Kidney stones affect one in 10 people at some point. People with stones can suffer debilitating pain until the stones have passed or been removed. You can learn about treatment options so you're equipped with knowledge before you get a stone. Robert Elgin, D.O., will also discuss factors contributing to recurring stones and what you can do to lower your risk.

Dr. Elgin is a specialist in the metabolic management of kidney stone disease and minimally invasive kidney stone surgery. He is involved in multiple research projects including studying post operative pain control and same-day discharge PCNL, a technique used to remove certain stones in the kidney or upper ureter. Dr. Elgin received his Bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Ohio and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his surgical internship at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills and his urological surgery residency at Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine Metro Detroit Consortium.
