Prostate Artery Embolization for Men with Enlarged Prostates: A New, Minimally Invasive Option
Many conditions requiring surgery can be treated with a new, minimally invasive technique. For men suffering from an enlarged prostate or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostate artery embolization (PAE) reduces blood flow to the prostate, causing it to shrink over time. It requires no incisions and nothing inserted into the penis. Interventional radiologist Dr. John Fallucca joins us to discuss the PAE procedure, now offered at MIU's new state-of-the-art outpatient interventional radiology center in Troy.
